Todd Delahunt

Life isn't perfect, but your beer can be.

I was born and lived in Portland (beer-mecca) most of my life where I developed my love for all things craft beer.

In the 1990s after earning a masters degree in business, I started a career in homebuilding and owned a custom home construction company for 25 years.

After 25 years of my homebuilding career I wanted to follow my passion, try my hand at brewing and make a second career of owning a brewery. It was time for a life change and so I relocated to southern Orange County with my patient and trusting wife and put the brewery into motion. We decided on the seaside town of San Clemente as the perfect home for Delahunt Brewing Company.

In 2019 I teamed up with my highly awarded brewer, Kyle Boruff. Together we built Delahunt Brewing Company from the ground up.

I’ve loved bulldogs and aided animal causes in my life so it seemed fitting to include the bulldog as the brewery mascot. Guinness is my bulldog and the model for the mascot likeness.

In west Philadelphia born and raised. On the playground was where I spent most of my days.Chillin’ out maxin’ relaxin’ all cool and all shootin some b-ball outside of the school. When a couple of guys who were up to no good, started making trouble in my neighborhood.I got in one little fight and my mom got scared, she said ‘You’re movin’ with your auntie and uncle in Bel Air’

I begged and pleaded with her day after day but she packed my suitcase and sent me on my way.She gave me a kiss and then she gave me my ticket.

I put my Walkman on and said, ‘I might as well kick it’.First class, yo this is bad.Drinking orange juice out of a champagne glass. Is this what the people of Bel-Air living like?Hmm this might be alright but wait I hear they’re prissy, bourgeois, all that.Is this the type of place that they just send this cool cat?I don’t think so.I’ll see when I get there.I hope they’re prepared for the prince of Bel-Air

Well, the plane landed and when I came out. There was a dude who looked like a cop standing there with my name out.I ain’t trying to get arrested yet,I just got here.I sprang with the quickness like lightning, disappeared.I whistled for a cab and when it came near. The license plate said fresh and it had dice in the mirror. If anything I could say that this cab was rare but I thought ‘Nah, forget it’ – ‘Yo, homes to Bel Air’

I pulled up to the house about seven or eigtht and I yelled to the cabbie ‘Yo homes smell ya later’.I looked at my kingdom,I was finally there to sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel Air.

I was born in Los Angeles but raised in San Juan Capistrano, Orange County. Growing up in Southern California I was interested in all things movies and film related. I decided to pursue film school, where I attended The Academy of Art in San Francisco. While there I fell in love with home brewing.

I began brewing for friends and family at home until one day I decided to take the next step and turn this passion into a career. Living in New Zealand at the time I had an opportunity to work with a company there opening up new tap rooms. I was inspired by the craft beer and brewers around me who really taught me how to appreciate good quality product.

When I came back to California, I was looking forward to working with a team that would allow me to express myself creatively. Incorporating my style from the experiences and teaching I gained throughout my time spent abroad. I am excited to be a part of this new adventure and introduce Delahunt’s dedication to quality and bringing a unique product to market.
